Grade 6 PAT Exams - Important Details & Dates
|
Dear Parents/Guardians, In June, Grade 6 students across Alberta will participate in the Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) using the Digital Assessment Platform (Vretta). Olympic Heights School is implementing the new Grade 6 Social Studies curriculum this year. As a result, the Grade 6 Social Studies PAT will not be administered in the 2025–26 school year. Students will complete the Grade 6 PATs in Mathematics, English Language Arts and Literature (Part A and B), and Science, aligned with the new curriculum. PAT exam dates are as follows:
These dates are also available on our school website. Provincial Achievement Tests provide Alberta Education, school staff, and families with information about student learning in relation to provincial standards at the end of Grade 6. Students who have received accommodations throughout the school year (including those with IPPs) will continue to receive similar supports during PATs. PATs are based on learning from the entire school year. Teachers will mark the exams before they are submitted to Alberta Education. A Quick Facts for Parents/Guardians is available on the Provincial Achievement Tests (https://www.alberta.ca/provincial-achievement-tests) website. Preliminary results will be shared by the school following the administration period. Final Individual Student Profiles (ISPs) will be available in the fall and can be accessed through the school or directly by parents using myPass. A copy of the ISP will also be retained in your child’s student record. Parents/Guardians are invited to attend our October School Council meeting, where we will review and discuss PAT results. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or contact me. Sincerely,
