Book Bonanza  is Back!

If you’re in the school next week for the holiday concerts, stop by our “Book Bonanza” near the plaza glass wall.  There you’ll find books that have been retired from our library and they’re yours to keep.  More books will be added to the display prior to Thursday.  Thanks to all the families who took books during conferences last week…many titles found a new home

Winter Concert – Save the Date!

Afternoon Assembly:

Save the date for our annual OHS winter/Christmas concert! Our Grades 4-6 students are once again hosting this wonderful event. We will be having an afternoon dress rehearsal / performance on Thursday, December 11 that will start at 2:15PM (doors open at 2:00PM).

Evening Concert:

All grade 4, 5 and 6 students will be performing in the evening concert on the same day, Thursday, December 11th, for families to watch. Students should arrive back at school for 6:00 pm and head to their homeroom for attendance. The show will begin at 6:30 pm. We will also be collecting food for the Calgary Food Bank, beginning on Dec. 8, so please try to remember to bring along a donation.

Attendance:

If your child (in grade 4, 5, 6) cannot attend the afternoon or evening concerts, please email Ms. Tran as soon as you can. Lmtran@cbe.ab.ca. Every student is assigned a hand bell part, and if they are absent, we will need to have their part covered. Thank you!

Walking Safety

As a gentle reminder, we ask all students to make safe choices on their way to and from school. Children should not speak with strangers or share personal information while walking to school, waiting at the bus stop, or at the park. If a student is ever approached or feels uncomfortable at any time, they should immediately report it to a trusted adult—parents, school staff, or the bus driver. Thank you for helping us reinforce safe habits and keeping our school community safe.

Field Trips

We are excited to continue offering engaging field trips that enrich classroom learning. Our teachers spend a significant amount of time planning these experiences, and to ensure appropriate supervision ratios, we rely on the support of parent volunteers. If we do not have enough volunteers, upcoming field trips may be at risk and could face possible cancellation.

Parents interested in volunteering can begin the process by completing the annual volunteer form in School Engage. After the form is submitted, you will receive an email with next steps. CPS will provide a voucher so there is no cost for the Police Information Check. Once the Police Information Check is completed, parents can upload it directly to School Engage.

Thank you for partnering with us to make these valuable learning opportunities possible for our students.
