Pink Shirt Day & “Be Brave” Hockey Game with the Calgary Hitmen

On Wednesday, February 25, we celebrated Pink Shirt Day, an important initiative that promotes kindness and raises awareness about bullying prevention. Students across OHS proudly wore their pink attire to show support for creating positive social connections and standing up against bullying. On Tuesday , our Grade 5 students had the exciting opportunity to attend the “Be Brave” hockey game at the Calgary Saddledome, featuring the Calgary Hitmen and the Swift Current Broncos. With more than 17,000 students from across the city in attendance, the atmosphere was incredible! A heartfelt thank‑you goes out to our School Council and Parents Association for making this memorable experience possible, and to all staff and parent volunteers who supported students throughout the day.

Crosswalk and School Zone Safety: A Critical Reminder for All Families

A reminder that safety must always come before convenience during drop‑off and pick‑up.

Please help keep our students safe by:

• Not speeding in the school zone
• Avoiding all U‑turns near the school
• Using marked crosswalks only when crossing

This video outlines strategies for both pedestrians and drivers. Please remember that children learn from what they see. Your actions set the example for safe behaviour around traffic. Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe.

Report Cards are Available!

A reminder, families can view report cards online for first term of the 2025-26 school year through MyCBE. Parents and guardians can access, download, and print their child’s report card through their MyCBE account, as schools no longer send home paper copies.Technical support is available for those needing assistance with the portal.
