Kindergarten Celebration
We sincerely thank all the families who joined us today for our Kindergarten Celebration. It was a joyful event that honored the learning, growth, and accomplishments of our youngest students as they completed their Kindergarten year. Families were treated to a charming showcase of singing and dancing, thoughtfully led by Ms. Tran with the support of Ms. Halsall, Ms. Williams, and Ms. Boehm. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who contributed to making this day so special and memorable for our Kindergarten students and their families. Congratulations to our Kindergarten students — we look forward to welcoming you to Grade One!
Stampede Breakfast Next Week!
We are excited to invite everyone to our upcoming Stampede Breakfast! This is a wonderful opportunity for OHS families, students, staff, and community members to come together, connect, and celebrate the spirit of our school community. Enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast, good company, and great conversation as we start the day together. Our Stampede Breakfast will take place on Friday, June 20, 2025. Breakfast will be served from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Garbage and recycling stations will be available on-site to help maintain a clean and welcoming environment for all attendees. We look forward to seeing you there and sharing this special morning with all of you!
National Indigenous Peoples History Month
June is National Indigenous Peoples History Month, a time to celebrate and honour the cultures, traditions, and experiences of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples across Canada. June 21st is recognized as National Indigenous Peoples Day, and June 14–21, 2025, marks Indigenous Awareness Week in Calgary. In line with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, OHS remains committed to fostering learning opportunities and promoting Education for ReconciliACTION. As we honour this month, we encourage staff, students, and families to explore land-based learning, attend community events, and reflect on the significance of the summer solstice through teachings shared by Indigenous Elders.
Library Year-End
If your child has an overdue library book, our library assistant Mrs. Sjogren may be in touch asking you to help your child locate the book at home. This year we offered families a voluntary option of replacing lost or damaged books to help keep our collection up-to-date. Mrs. Sjogren will provide book replacement info if you wish to get a new copy of any book you can’t find. Costs for replacing lost or damaged books are not applied to your MyCBE account fees.
Online Report Card Access
Online report cards will be available for viewing from June 25, 2025, through July 25, 2025 (8:00 a.m.). During this period, legal guardians and independent students can access K–12 report cards online. For additional support with Attendance, Assessment, and Reporting—including helpful videos and guides—please visit Technical Support for Students & Parents.
Outstanding School Fees
Thank you for your attention to our earlier communication regarding school fees. Typically, the only fees charged directly by the school are those related to field trips. These trips operate on a cost-recovery basis, covering expenses such as transportation and service provider fees. Unpaid fees can significantly impact the programming we are able to offer, including limiting our ability to provide student technology, art supplies, library books, and other valuable resources. For your convenience, payments can be made online using credit or debit through your MyCBE account. If you have any questions or concerns regarding fees, please contact the main office.

Volunteers Needed – Olympic Heights Parent Association Casino
The Olympic Heights Parent Association is thrilled to announce its upcoming Fundraising Casino, happening November 1–2, 2025 at Cowboys Casino in Calgary. This exciting event is not only a great way to support our school, but also a fun opportunity to meet and connect with fellow OHS parents. Together, we have the potential to raise up to $70,000 to enhance our children’s educational experience.
Proceeds from the event will help fund essential learning tools and resources, including laptops, iPads, SMART Boards, robotics equipment, books, gym gear, music and art supplies. These contributions directly benefit our students by enriching classrooms and creating dynamic, engaging learning environments.
We truly rely on the support of our community to make this event a success.

Families are now able to register for school bus service for the 2025-2026 school year. To find out if you are within the busing zone, visit the walk zone/bus zone page and enter your address.
If you are within the bus zone, registration is now available through your MyCBE account
Families must register by Sunday, June 22, 2025 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year.
We continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space.
