Celebrating Our Grade 6 Farewell – June 24th

We are excited to celebrate our Grade 6 students as they conclude their time at Olympic Heights School and prepare for the transition to junior high. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and know they will be missed by our school community. The Grade 6 Farewell Celebration for students and families will take place on Wednesday, June 24, at 9:15 a.m., with doors opening at 9:00 a.m. Students are encouraged to dress for this special occasion but should bring a change of clothes for the afternoon, as they will be participating in classroom activities with their peers. A heartfelt thank you to our Grade 6 parent volunteers for their support in helping make this milestone celebration memorable for our students.

OHS Sports and Activity Day – June 25th

Students will enjoy a fun-filled day of physical activity and school spirit on Thursday, June 25.

Morning Activities

  • Students will participate in Mini Golf during their regularly scheduled Physical Education class.

Afternoon Activities

  • Students will rotate through a variety of activity stations featuring games and outdoor fun.

Please ensure your child:

  • Wears comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing.
  • Brings outdoor running shoes and a water bottle.
  • Packs a few extra healthy snacks, as this will be an active day.

The event will proceed rain or shine. If weather conditions require, activities will be moved indoors!

Student Safety in the Community

As summer approaches and children begin spending more time outdoors, we encourage families to review important safety practices.

Please consider discussing the following with your child:

  • Stay with friends or in groups whenever possible.
  • Avoid isolated areas and remain in familiar locations.
  • Let a trusted adult know where you are going and when you expect to return.
  • Trust your instincts and seek help if a situation feels unsafe.
  • Do not share personal information with strangers.

Creating a simple safety plan with your child can help them feel prepared and confident. Knowing important phone numbers, travelling on familiar routes, and identifying trusted adults are all valuable steps toward keeping children safe.

By working together, we can help ensure all students enjoy a safe, positive, and memorable summer.

Library Year-End

If your child has an overdue library book, our library assistant Mrs. Sjogren may be in touch asking you to help your child locate the book at home. This year we offered families a voluntary option of replacing lost or damaged books to help keep our collection up-to-date. Mrs. Sjogren will provide book replacement info if you wish to get a new copy of any book you can’t find. Costs for replacing lost or damaged books are not applied to your MyCBE account fees.

Online Report Card Access
Student report cards will be available online from June 25, 2026, until July 31, 2026 (8:00 a.m.). Parents, guardians, and independent students can access report cards through the MyCBE portal. Additional information, videos, and support resources related to Attendance, Assessment, and Reporting can be found through the Technical Support for Students & Parents resources.
