Student-led Conferences

Have you booked yet?? Booking is now open and is done through your MyCBE account. Each 45-minute block will allow for five families. Siblings can be scheduled within the same “block,” however please note that most student led conferences take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. 45 minutes will be made available for each child but there is no need to arrive precisely at the start of your block.  Also, you can feel free to leave when you’re done or you may also choose to explore the gym and meet with the PE teacher Ms. Warford. A common break of 30 minutes is scheduled for teachers to eat from 5:30 – 6:00pm. During this time families may attend our book fair, examine hallway displays, view class documentation panels (bulletin boards), or leave and return at 6:00. Book yours today!

We look forward to seeing you!

Book Fair Shopping on Thursday and Friday – We invite you to stop by our Scholastic Book Fair in the plaza during student-led conferences on Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20. Proceeds from the fair provide funds for more new and exciting books for our school library. Purchases can be made using debit or credit cards (no cash purchases). Thank you for your support.

Making Good Choices

At school, we encourage students to make good choices, even when no one is watching. This helps children build responsibility, integrity, and pride in doing the right thing, not just following rules. Families can support this learning by talking about everyday choices and modelling positive behaviour at home.

Conversation starters for parents:

  • “Why is it important to do the right thing, even when no one sees?”
  • “How do your choices show who you are?”
  • “How might you feel about that choice later?”

Together, we can help children develop strong character and decision‑making skills.

A Good Day at School

A successful school day starts with enough sleep, a nutritious breakfast, and a calm, unhurried drop‑off. If mornings feel rushed, please don’t worry, arriving a few minutes late is always preferable to making unsafe drop‑off choices.

Unfortunately we have been experiencing some unsafe drop-off and pick up habits lately. As a reminder:

  • Please ensure your children exit on the curb side.
  • Do not let students out of double-parked vehicles into moving traffic.
  • Drivers, please stay in your vehicles at all times.
  • Do not park/stop in the bus zones.
  • Make sure you use the crosswalks. Adults were seen escorting children across mid‑block traffic, and we all play a role in demonstrating safe pedestrian practices for our students.

Thank you for helping us keep arrival time safe and calm for everyone.

Lost and Found

Our lost and found is quickly filling up again. We encourage families to speak with their children about being responsible for their personal belongings and checking regularly for missing items. Labelled items are much easier to return to their owners. Families are also welcome to check the lost and found during student‑led conferences. Any unclaimed items will be donated at a later date.

Thank you for helping us keep our lost and found manageable.
