Spring Break Reminder
We would like to remind our wonderful families that Spring Break is just around the corner, running from March 23 to March 27. Classes will resume on Monday, March 30. If you have not done so already, please do not forget to read our Spring principal’s message from Mr. Barkley. We hope you enjoy a restful and refreshing break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to a short week on March 30. Students will have a short week due to the Good Friday Holiday on Friday April 3rd. Have a fantastic week off!
March School Conferences
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our parents and guardians for joining us for our Student-Led Conferences. Students truly enjoyed the opportunity to share their learning with you, and it was wonderful to see so many families engaging in these meaningful conversations. Conferences play an important role in communicating student progress, and we deeply appreciate your continued engagement and support.
We would also like to give a special thank you to our Parent Council for providing the amazing Freshii conference dinner for teachers. Your generosity and ongoing support are sincerely appreciated—thank you for all you do for our school community!
Elder Hal
Our OHS students recently had the wonderful opportunity to learn with Elder Hal, who generously shared his knowledge and perspectives on Indigenous teachings. During the session, students explored the significance of natural medicines, learned about constellations and their meanings, experienced the rhythm and cultural importance of drumming, and discovered the teachings connected to the star wheel. This experience offered our students meaningful insights into Indigenous ways of knowing, and we are grateful to Elder Hal for guiding their learning in such an engaging and thoughtful way.
Save the Date – Div 1 Spring Concert –April 9th
We are excited for the live afternoon and evening performances for Grade 1, 2, and 3 students on Thursday, April 9, 2026.
Afternoon Performance
- Date: Thursday, April 9
- Time: 2:15 p.m.
- Students will perform for older grades, and families are welcome to attend. Seating will be available for those who wish to join us.
Evening Performance
- Date: Thursday, April 9
- Student arrival: 6:00 p.m. (students should go to their homerooms for attendance)
- Showtime: 6:30 p.m.
Our Grade 1–3 students have been working hard in their music classes, and we are excited for you to see their performances. Grade 1-3 students are encouraged to review the practice videos that have been sent by Mrs. Tran. If your child in Grades 1–3 will be unable to attend, please contact Mrs. Tran at lmtran@cbe.ab.ca at your earliest convenience. We look forward to seeing you soon!
