Educational Transition Requests for the 2026-2027 School Year - *** Submission Deadline - Monday May 11th 2026 ***
During the months of May and June, Olympic Heights staff—including teachers, support staff, and administration—work collaboratively to thoughtfully develop balanced class groupings for the upcoming school year. This process requires careful consideration, collaboration, and time to ensure that all students are placed in learning environments where they can be successful. Decisions are informed by multiple perspectives, including student voice, as we aim to create equitable, supportive, and well‑balanced classroom communities. As part of this process, families are invited to share information that may help us better understand their child’s learning needs. The Microsoft Form linked below provides an opportunity to offer input from a parent perspective. While all submissions are reviewed carefully, please note that completing the form does not guarantee specific placements, as many factors must be considered when creating class groupings. We are unable to accommodate teacher requests, as all staff are skilled educators, grade assignments may change, and honoring such requests can impact overall balance.
Examples of helpful input include:
- “Please consider placing my twins in the same/separate classes.”
- “My child benefits from a highly structured learning environment.”
- “If possible, please separate Billy and Sarah, as they tend to distract one another.”
We value your partnership and appreciate the thoughtful information you share in support of your child’s success at Olympic Heights School. Please note that transition requests are not guarantees. To ensure your input is considered, forms must be submitted by Monday, May 11, 2026 (next Monday). Requests received after this date will not be reviewed.
Thank you for your continued support and collaboration.

Lemonade Stand to support our Playground Revitalization Project - This Saturday (May 9th 2026)
Please join the OHS Parents Association this Saturday for a lemonade stand during the SCA Annual Parade of Garage Sales in support of the OHS Playground Revitalization Project. They will be present from 9am-2pm beside the OHS playground!
The association is raising funds to replace aging equipment and transition from the current pea gravel surface to safer, more inclusive rubber surfacing. Student volunteers, alongside the OHS Parents Association, will be offering lemonade and coffee (generously donated by McDonald’s) by donation. We hope you can join us in supporting this important initiative.
The OHS Parents Association is still seeking two additional families to assist with the stand. Please see the sign-up link for more information: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0549A8AC2CAAFFC25-63972089-ohsplay

School Playground Use During the School Day
Recently we have had to remind individuals that our school playground is not available for use during school hours. This is an important safety measure. During the instructional day, staff need to be able to clearly identify all adults on school grounds and ensure they are authorized to be here. This includes students and families who have recently been dismissed from our kindergarten classes. When additional adults are present on the playground, it becomes much more difficult to quickly determine who is a parent, who is staff, and who may be an unknown individual. Limiting playground use during school hours helps us maintain secure supervision, protects students, and supports a safe and focused learning environment for everyone. We appreciate your understanding and partnership in keeping our school community safe.
Outstanding Fees Reminder
This is a friendly reminder that some families currently have outstanding fees on their child’s school account. Most school-based fees are related to field trips, which operate on a cost-recovery basis to cover expenses such as transportation and service provider fees. Unpaid fees can significantly impact the programs and resources available at our school, including student technology, art supplies, library materials, and other learning supports. For your convenience, payments can be made online using credit or debit through your MyCBE account. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the main office.
