Dear Olympic Heights Families,
As summer creeps toward fall, we are excited to welcome students, staff, and families back to a new school year at Olympic Heights. We hope this message finds you rested, rejuvenated, and ready to begin another exciting chapter of learning and growth.
The start of a new school year bring excitement, opportunity, and even trepidation as everyone wonders what the future will bring. Whether you are a returning family with years of experience at our school, or new to the neighbourhood and experiencing your first year, it’s important you are connected with our school. Fortunately, OHS is not just a place of education; it is a community where each of us—students, parents, teachers, and staff – play a vital role in nurturing the success of our learners. Together, we strive to create an environment where every child is encouraged to explore, discover, and achieve their full potential.
Each year, we aim to grow, both in our studies and as people. We believe that growth is not solely about marks or report cards, but about deepening our understanding, expanding our horizons, and supporting one another as we navigate challenges and celebrate the successes that come before us. In supporting one another, our commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere remains resolute. Our goal is to work together to make sure each student feels important, respected, and ready to succeed.
As we begin this school year, I encourage you to stay connected with our school community. Whether it's through attending school events, participating in parent-teacher conferences, engaging in daily conversations with your child about their experiences, or reading updates such as this. Your involvement is key to your child’s success. Our staff is here to support you and your family, and we look forward to the many ways we will grow together in the coming months.
It can be hard to say goodbye to summer habits like sleeping in, going for random bike rides, and staying up late. But as Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu said, "New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings." We are eager for the fresh start this school year brings and excited about the chances to learn and improve that lie ahead. Thank you for once again trusting us with your children's education. Let's make this year at Olympic Heights School one of discovery, connection, and growth.
Welcome back!
