Learning Conferences Sign Up
Our first parent/teacher conference for the year will be held on Sept. 26 and 27 only. Parents are able to book through their MyCBE account. The scheduler opens today at 4:00PM and will close Thursday, September 26 at noon. Please be sure to book with your child’s classroom teacher. There is an error in the scheduler, and it may appear that Sept. 30, Oct. 1 and Oct. 2 are available. This is not the case. Please only book on Sept. 26 and 27.
Terry Fox Run a HUGE success
Despite the intermittent, then more persistent rain, our annual Terry Fox assembly and run was a huge success. Students form K through 6 ran in the spirit of Terry, overcoming the obstacles the weather presented, and gaining a small sense of what he might have endured. Even though we ran for much less than our anticipated time, our students demonstrated the courage and perseverance, so characteristic of Terry Fox. Thanks to all who made today happen. Our school donation page will remain open until Sept. 27th.
Accessing Student Attendance and Assessment Information
Parents are able to access information about their child(ren) through the MyCBE Portal. Once signed in, you are able to view information on attendance including lates and absences for your child. You can also view assessment information that teachers have uploaded, either by chronological order, or by report card area. Teachers will be adding some assessment information each month, which will also help parents better understand January and June report card marks. Please note that teachers are NOT uploading every assignment and mark but will be publishing marks for major projects or learning cycles. A helpful PDF guide is available to assist and there is even a video tutorial available if needed. Teachers will share more at your parent/teacher conference.
Grade 6 AMA Patrollers Training
We’re pleased to share that our Grade 6 AMA Patrollers will be completing their training next week at the crosswalk in front of the school. This vital program plays a key role in keeping our students safe, and we truly appreciate your support as they develop their skills.
Please be patient during this time as they practice. You’ll see them hard at work during the following hours:
- Morning: 8:25 – 8:38 AM
- Afternoon: 3:13 – 3:25 PM (12:23 – 12:35 PM on Fridays)
A friendly reminder to all drivers: when the patrollers have their stop signs out, please remain stopped until they direct you to proceed (the stop signs will be returned behind their backs). Pedestrians should wait behind the patrollers until it’s safe to cross, which is indicated when their stop signs are out, and they are no longer blocking the crosswalk with their arms.
Your encouragement will go a long way in helping them feel confident in their new roles! Thank you for your support!

School Apparel
The Olympic Heights School Council and Parent Association have made available our OHS merch for the 2024-2025 school year. If you have not yet done so, please check out our selection of OHS school apparel. There will be 3 sales this year - a Back To School, Winter Holiday, and Spring Sale - so there are a few opportunities to buy goods when they are discounted. However, apparel can be ordered any time. All you need to do is click on the link to our school store, browse and select the items you would like to purchase. https://stores.freshbrandgear.com/olympicheights/shop/home
Book Bonanza is Back: A Reading Gift for OHS Families!
When you’re in the school for family conferences on Thursday and Friday next week, we invite you to visit our complimentary book station located in the plaza by the glass wall. We're passing on a selection of books retired from our library's collection, including novels, picture books and non-fiction titles, for your family to enjoy and keep. This initiative supports ongoing reading and literacy, giving students the chance to dive into stories that might be new to them. Feel free to select a book (or books!) to take home - they are a gift from us to you, with no returns necessary.
