As we approach the Christmas and winter break, I want to take a moment to extend warm wishes to all Olympic Heights families. This season offers a welcome pause; an opportunity to rest, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most.
Throughout this year, our school community has been guided by the theme “I am Connected,” inspired by the book by Kung Jaadee. This message has resonated deeply with us. It reminds us that we are connected to one another, to our learning, to our land, and to the wider world around us. At Olympic Heights, we see this connection every day; in the care students show for one another, in the partnerships between families and staff, and in the shared commitment to creating a safe, welcoming place where every child belongs.
The winter break is a meaningful time to nurture those connections. Whether your days are filled with celebration, quiet moments at home, time outdoors, or visits with family and friends, I hope you find space for togetherness, gratitude, and joy. These moments of connection are powerful, and they help ground our children as learners and as people.
I would like to sincerely thank our families for your ongoing support, trust, and partnership. Your involvement and encouragement make a difference in the lives of our students and strengthen our school community in countless ways. I am also deeply grateful to our dedicated staff, who continue to model care, compassion, and connection in all that they do.
On behalf of everyone at Olympic Heights School, I wish you a restful and joyful Christmas and winter break. We look forward to welcoming students back in the new year, refreshed and ready to continue learning and growing… together, and connected.
Warm regards,
Trevor Barkley, Principal
