Orange Shirt Day

It was so great to see so many students and staff wearing orange shirts to remember that Every Child Matters, and to honour survivors and victims of the Canadian residential school system. On this meaningful day, we were reminded that the orange shirt was inspired by Phillis Webstad, whose orange shirt was taken away from her on her first day at a residential school.

On National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, September 30, we hope you were able to find time to learn more about this history and ways to help support healing.

Jacket Racket

Olympic Heights School is proud to be one of the 27 schools and businesses who have signed up to participate in Jacket Racket 2026! Last year, Jacket Racket was able to fill requests for winter wear for just over 1800+ students.

Our school office is accepting Jacket Racket donations from October 5 to November 6. Gently used items we will be collecting are: winter jackets, snowpants, winter boots, hats and mitts. We kindly ask that donated items be washed and in good condition.
