Olympic Heights Update - January 26
Accessing Online Report Cards through MyCBE
Families will be able to view online student report cards on Jan. 30, 2024. Report cards for the 2023-24 school year may be viewed, downloaded and/or printed. Parents and Guardians can sign in to MyCBE to view student information, including report cards, comments from your child’s teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information. For best access to information, log in to the MyCBE portal instead of using the PowerSchool App. For technical support on accessing MyCBE, visit Technical Support for Students & Parents for more information.
Please see the CBE resource, How is My Child Doing in School?, for helpful information related to assessment and reporting.
Individualized Program Plans (IPPs)
If a student is accessing support through an Individualized Program Plan (IPP), these documents have been updated for January 2024 and are coming home this week and next. Please review the IPP and indicate your agreement with the learning targets and goals by signing the second review section of the final page. Families can also sign-off to consent for electronic delivery of the IPP through email, if they have not already. If you have questions about your child’s IPP, please reach out to their teacher as a starting point.
Alberta Education Assurance (AEA) Survey now open!
The Alberta Education Assurance (AEA) survey gathers feedback on the quality of education provided by school authorities and their schools. Schools and school authorities use this information to understand how they are doing and plan for the future. The AEA survey is sent to parents or guardians of students in Grades 4, 7, and 10. Teachers and students complete the survey online at school. Parents or guardians receive a survey invitation package by mail and have the option to complete the survey on paper or online using the provided Random Access Code (RAC). Parents or guardians with more than one student in an eligible grade will receive a separate survey invitation package for each child. Only parents or guardians of students in participating grades will receive a survey invitation package to complete the survey. Responding to the survey is voluntary. Thank you for providing your voice!
CBE Student Survey
Students in grades 4, 5, & 6 will have the occasion to have their say through the annual CBE Student Survey. This student-only survey provides an opportunity for students to report on themselves, their own abilities and their accomplishments, and take pride in what they have achieved. The results are used in school and district reports to demonstrate that students are:
able to integrate and apply the knowledge, skills, attitudes and competencies they are acquiring across all academic disciplines; and demonstrating Citizenship, Personal Development and Character in and through learning.
