Grade 6 AMA Patrollers Training
We’re pleased to share that our Grade 6 AMA Patrollers will be completing their training next week at the crosswalk in front of the school. This vital program plays a key role in keeping our students safe, and we truly appreciate your support as they develop their skills.
Please be patient during this time as they practice. You’ll see them hard at work during the following hours:
- Morning: 8:45 – 8:58 AM
- Afternoon: 3:30 – 3:45 PM (12:57 – 1:10PM on Fridays)
A friendly reminder to all drivers: when the patrollers have their stop signs out, please remain stopped until they direct you to proceed (the stop signs will be returned behind their backs). Pedestrians should wait behind the patrollers until it’s safe to cross, which is indicated when their stop signs are out and they are no longer blocking the crosswalk with their arms. Your encouragement will go a long way in helping them feel confident in their new roles! Thank you for your support! We are excited to be participating in our annual
Terry Fox Run on Tuesday, September 23!
We are excited to be participating in our annual Terry Fox Run on Tuesday, September 23! With just two weeks to go, our fundraising page is now live. Families will receive additional information and the donation link by email and through School Messenger in the coming days. Kindergarten students are encouraged to participate with their buddy classes by walking, jogging, or running together earlier in the day during their PE time. Thank you for supporting this meaningful event as we celebrate Terry's legacy of courage, perseverance, and hope while raising funds for cancer research. We look forward to another successful Terry Fox Run at Olympic Heights!
Individualized Program Plans (IPPs)
As we begin the school year, our staff are getting to know students, reviewing learning profiles, and collecting information to support student success. For students who have an Individualized Program Plan (IPP), classroom teachers will be the first point of contact and will reach out to families during September to discuss goals, supports, and programming for the year. We value the important role families play in this process and look forward to working together to ensure each student's strengths, needs, and learning goals are reflected in their IPP. If you have information you would like to share about your child's learning, please connect directly with your child's classroom teacher.
