Terry Fox Run

What an incredible Terry Fox Run! A huge thank you to our students, families, staff, and school community for coming together to support such an important cause.

We were honoured to welcome Willa Marshall, a School Run Ambassador with the Terry Fox Foundation. Willa shared Terry’s story with our students and helped inspire our students before they headed out for their run! Thank you Willa!

And did our students ever run! Together, they collected over 2,089 popsicle sticks, representing an incredible 1,044.5 kilometers!  Our Olympic Heights community also raised an amazing $3,170 for the Terry Fox Foundation which surpassed our original goal of $2,000! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who donated, participated, cheered on our runners, and helped make the day such a success. We are incredibly proud of the determination, generosity, and school spirit shown by our entire community.

Open House

We would like to thank our OHS families who took the time to attend our Open House on Thursday, Sept. 24. If you met teachers, learned in your child’s classroom, visited the free Book Bonanza in the plaza and explored the ‘Be A Good Ancestor” book walk outside, your presence meant a lot to students and staff.

A special thank you to our amazing School Council for providing dinner for staff and helping fuel them for the evening.

Our Learning Conferences will be held November 26 and 27 with more details to come closer to the dates.

 Orange Shirt Day

On September 29, we encourage students, staff and our OHS community to wear an orange shirt as part of our ongoing work with truth and reconciliation.

In honour of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, our students have worked with their buddies to prepare some orange OHS Ribbons For ReconciliACTION featuring a short, special promise. These ribbons are currently displayed on our fence at the front of the school beside the Kiss and Drop Zone.
